Custom task fields in a proposal

In a proposal, each task is created with the same set of task fields. The values entered in these fields provide information about the task, such as its name, description, start date, and end date.

To further classify tasks, you can create multiple custom task fields in a proposal, such as CLIN and Bidder.

Immediately after creating a custom task field, you should set up the list of values it will accept. If you don't, your field will be visible but unusable.

When you submit a proposal, its custom task fields and their values are retained in ProPricer Contractor Edition.

ProPricer CE summary fields

In ProPricer Contractor Edition, task fields are also called summary fields. The summary fields and values created by a CE user are equivalent to the custom task fields and values created in BOE Pro.

Unlike BOE Pro, ProPricer CE proposals do not require a proposal breakdown structure (PBS). But if one is needed, it can be created with a summary field and its values. For example, the summary field could be named Work Breakdown Structure, and each value would be a different part of that hierarchical structure.

Because summary fields and custom task fields can provide the same data in ProPricer CE and BOE Pro, you can use summary fields to import CE estimates. If the proposal has summary field mappings, you can include them in the import and apply them to your custom task fields. When set up correctly in ProPricer CE, the mappings automatically filter which values people can select in summary fields and custom task fields.
