Add a resource in a proposal

You can add a resource to any proposal breakdown structure (PBS) element where estimates are allowed. To bulk import several new resources throughout the PBS simultaneously, see Bulk Import Resources.

  1. On the Estimates page, select a PBS element. If it has resources already, they will appear in the estimates grid to the right.
  2. Above the estimates grid, click Add > Add Resource.
  3. Select a resource from the proposal's direct rate table. If your proposal has resource codes:
    • You can select a resource code value instead of a resource. The code value will fill in the remaining resource information.
    • You must select a resource code value or a resource.
  4. Enter a unique resource ID.
    • If you use the Resource ID Naming feature in your system settings, resource IDs will be named automatically.
  5. Select an indirect pool for the resource. (Optional)
  6. Select an accounting calendar for the resource. (Optional)
  7. Enter values in any external resource fields and custom resource fields.
  8. The proposal's currency is the default currency for all estimates. If your proposal has an exchange rate table and Multi-Currency is enabled, you can select a different currency for the estimate. (Optional)
  9. Click Create. When the resource appears in the grid, you can enter its estimates.
