Responsibility assignment

The responsibility assignment matrix (RAM) is for setting up responsibility groups in a proposal. When you add a proposal from a template with a RAM setup, the proposal's RAM reflects it.

To open the RAM, go to the Proposals page, select a proposal, then click More Actions RAM.

Responsibility groups define the organizations or teams responsible for each proposal breakdown structure (PBS) element. Once a responsibility group is assigned to a PBS element, the group's users can be assigned to workflow steps. Then users can advance, reject, or override their steps in BOE View or the BOE List. Users can only view the PBS elements that their responsibility group is assigned to. If a user creates a new PBS element, that person is automatically assigned to the first workflow step.

In a BOE Pro system that has the External System Integration (ESI) feature configured, responsibility groups determine which ESI connections are available to the group's users. Every responsibility group has an Integration Access setting where you can select each ESI that the group needs. In BOE View, responsibility group users can choose an ESI, search the external system, and then apply its data to the text of their BOE sections.

The administrators who can change the RAM are selected in the proposal's Configuration settings. The proposal owners who can choose the administrators are selected there as well. By default, the user who created the proposal is automatically the owner.
